Koperasi Syariah Nusa Berlian is a community-based economic institution that operates under the principles of kinship and Islamic law, playing a significant role in enhancing community welfare through savings, lending activities, and productive financing, particularly using the murabahah contract. The type of research used is field research, using qualitative descriptive methods with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation to analyze cooperative management, division of tasks, development strategies and operational constraints. The findings indicate that the division of roles aligns with the cooperative’s organizational structure, with members acting as owners and policy decision-makers, managers serving as operational implementers, and supervisors ensuring compliance with administrative, financial, and Sharia principles. In its strategic planning, the cooperative undertakes various efforts such as improving service quality, strengthening human resource capacity through education and training, optimizing the use of digital technology, enhancing financial management efficiency, and expanding collaboration with Sharia-based institutions. However, the main challenge faced by the cooperative is the absence of formal legal recognition in the form of a notarial deed, which limits its legal authority in resolving problematic financing, particularly in cases of default that require the sale of collateral. This lack of legal legitimacy weakens the cooperative’s institutional position and hampers effective risk management. Therefore, strengthening its legal foundation becomes an urgent strategic step to enhance professionalism, reinforce member trust, and enable the cooperative to uphold and implement Sharia economic principles more effectively and sustainably.
